This package brings SMS.To service of sending bulk SMS to Zen Cart.

  • Send SMS to a single phone number

  • Send bulk SMS to many phone numbers

  • Send bulk SMS to list of phones (synchronize SMSto lists with ZenCart customer phones)

  • View History of the sent messages

  • SMS notification to administrator upon new order

  • SMS notification to customers upon each order status change:

    • Pending

    • Processing

    • Delivered

    • Update

  • Customize the messages sent

Install

This plugin utilize Zen Cart new feature for encapsulated plugins for easy installation without manually copying folders and files. The simple process is as below.

  1. Download zip file from SMSto - Zen Cart Plugins (zen-cart.com) and extract

  2. Copy “smsto” folder under the server public directory “zc_plugins”. The end result would be for example “public_html/zc_plugins/smsto”

  3. Login to the administration Admin area of the site

  4. Navigate to Modules → Plugin Manager

  5. You should see SMSto plugin there. Just click on it and press button Install

That’s it!!!

Uninstall

To uninstall plugin again navigate to Modules → Plugin Manager. Select the plugin and click button Un-Install.

Configuration

Navigate to Configuration → SMSto where you can set all necessary configuration.

Detailed description of each configuration is described for each setting when setting it. When customizing the SMS messages you can use the shop tags as shown below.

SMS notifications

After setting the API key and get access SMS notification will be sent automatically upon every new order.

Also when changing the status of an order from admin section, store owner can choose whether an SMS notification will also be sent to customer. This is a functionality similar with sending email notifications.

This functionality is available both on list view and details as show below.

Bulk SMS

To use bulk SMS functionality navigate to Tools → SMSto

Contacts, Lists & Un-/Subscription

Upon visiting SMSto application the first time automatically a new list will be created on SMSto with the name “zencart”. This list will hold all customer phones and will be kept synchronized upon new customer registration. Store owner can use this list to send bulk sms to all the customers.

You can create your lists with the phone numbers you wish to bulk send. For a complete guid of SMSto contacts usage please read Contacts, Lists & Un-/Subscription : SMS.to

The basic functionality is also available this package.

To view, create, edit or delete any list you can do it to Lists tab as shown in below image.

The same applies for contacts.

There are filters per list, whether it is subscribed, and search for specific phones. Each contact can be a part of one or more lists. For example below image:

Each contact you can optin/optout, delete, or edit with the buttons on the right. When create/edit a contact you can define the follow that can be used when sending a list as merge fields.

Sending SMS messages

Sending message can be done from Send tab. For a single message:

And to one or more lists as below:

Reports

From tab Reports is available the status of the messages sent. The filters available is by recipient number, date and status.
